Sourcing, the source(s) from where you get any bit of information, is important to any wiki to ensure its accuracy and validity. Here are some things you need to know about how Fright Fest Wiki handles the sourcing of its content.
- The vast majority of content should be able to "speak for itself" in the sense that the information is coming from (and attributed to) official sources. Officially published park maps/guides and other media do a lot of the heavy lifting. However, due to the lack of documentation and public research in general related to Six Flags, there is no reasonable way that everything could be traced back to encyclopedic sources that a site like Wikipedia would be satisfied with.
- For the above reason, Fright Fest Wiki operates on an "honor system," meaning that by contributing to this site, you ensure that everything is accurate to the best of your knowledge and is not "fanon" (information that you, as a fan, fabricated). Edits are likely to be highly scrutinized and if something is easily disproven or conflicts with official sources, it will be removed.
- Over the many seasons and collective man hours that Fright Fest events have operated at Six Flags parks worldwide, there have been many characters (or scare actors/"scareactors") with their own names and backstories. Related to our honor system and the existence of scareactors in our community, self-publishing "lore" content from these individuals IS allowed so long as it fits within the parameters of the event (would not be offensive or damaging to Six Flags) and does not violate Fandom's Terms of Service.
