Fright Fest 2023 was the 35th annual Fright Fest event at Six Flags St. Louis. It operated on select nights, mainly Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, from September 16 through October 29, 2023. Like the previous year, Fright Fest ran in tandem with Kids Boo Fest, however a third event, Oktoberfest Food Festival, was also added for the fall season.

The event featured four haunted attractions, Jingle Mangle, Creatures of the Corn, Oddball's FunHouse, and The Slaughter House, all of which being the same lineup as Fright Fest 2022. However, despite the lack of a new haunted attraction, two new scare zones were introduced, those being Steampunk Pumpkins and The Underground. Spider Alley also returned as a scare zone, taking up one-half of the shade arbors, with Troll Bypass taking up the other half. Otherwise, Sinister Clowns, Cannibal Hideout, Zombieville, and the Rottingham & Bones Graveyard all returned. The Blood Bank Lounge also returned, as did the previous year's entertainment lineup.

Attractions[]

Haunted attractions[]

  • Jingle Mangle (Sponsored by Skittles - 1904 World's Fair): The Jingle Mangle plant has undergone some changes and now offers new screams and scares. The disgruntled elves are committed to providing their customers the most frightening experience as they tour the facility.
  • Creatures of the Corn (Sponsored by Twix - Tidal Wave lot): Just a winding walk through the rows of corn...filled with dark corners, dead ends and misleading paths. With an abandoned bus and a sketchy old shack as landmarks, what could go wrong?
  • Oddball's FunHouse (Sponsored by M&M's - Britannia Games building): Oddball has some new tricks up his sleeve that will ensure this funhouse is only fun for the inhabitants! Those who enter, will wander the maze of bizarre rooms, desperate to find the way out.
  • The Slaughter House (Sponsored by 5 - Second River King Mine Train station): Pigman has added meat packing and selling to his Slaughter House. To keep up with demand, he is hosting an open house for new donations and all humans are welcome to enter...few will be permitted to leave.

Sites and scare zones[]

  • Steampunk Pumpkins (DC Comics Plaza): At the center of this zone is a towering jack-o-lantern made of metal, with a firey and grimacing stare as the Steampunks circle around him. (2023 addition)
  • The Underground (Batman Plaza): The forbidden area beneath the city has been taken over by an unsavory group. Sliding through the abandoned work zones with empty tunnels, these rebels rule The Underground. (2023 addition)
  • Spider Alley (Shade arbors): Venture through this web filled arbor of eight legged arachnids. But these spiders do not run away, they are crawling after you. (2023 return)
  • Troll Bypass (Shade arbors): Shortcuts often take longer, especially if you run into this band of trolls guarding their territory and King Troll.
  • Blood Bank Lounge (In and outside Miss Kitty's Saloon): Step inside and indulge in an adult beverage while you enjoy the sounds of the skeletion trio and their ghoulish tunes.
  • Sinister Clowns (Britannia): The Black Top Circus is back in town with rogue and irreverent clowns terrorizing the streets.
  • Cannibal Hideout (Shazam! Court): Our cannibals love company and will most definitely invite you to stay for dinner, but you won't like what is on the menu.
  • Zombieville (Studio Backlot): If you must travel this way...be aware of your surroundings at all times and go quickly as someone is waiting and watching.
  • Rottingham & Bones Graveyard (Palace Gardens): By day the inhabitants of the graveyard sleep, but by night they wake up as fog fills the air and The Undertaker roams the grounds looking for more souls.

Entertainment[]

  • Rocky Horror Picture Show featuring Flustered Mustard (Empire Theater): This cult classic, part campy comedy and part horror film, was the inspiration for the park's own "Love At First Fright." Shadow cast Flustered Mustard, brings this movie to life and invites audience participation.
  • Freaks Unleashed (Palace Porch): The haunting performance by our cast of monstertainers ends with the Grand Witch summoning the Freaks into the park. From here, they disperse into the park to bring fear by night!
  • Dead Man's Party (Palace Porch): This party is taking on a new feel as stories of forlorn creatures are told through haunting dance moves and intense music for a chilling and cryptic show.
  • Love at First Fright (Sponsored by Snickers - Palace Theater): For the 30th Anniversary of this show, we are bringing back some of the original songs of this park favorite. Jack and Katie are still lurking in the graveyard at the stroke of midnight, but soon find themselves in Witchy's castle where her latest creation, Frankie, needs a new brain.
